i don't think about it much, if i switch between similar juices i just let it ride. If i want to change juice i'll just go ahead and rebuild. only takes a few minutes.

i've seen it done, take a 9 wrap coil, bend it midway and rotate one half, straighten out the middle wrap and you'll have two smaller coils side by side with a straight piece in the middle. It may increase your surface area and possibly heat up quicker but you're still getting the same...

To help the legs from getting all crooked I use a small screwdriver to hold it in place while i tighten the posts. or whatever fits in the coils and will hold it steady

i can't speak for the stock heads as I just rebuild mine. but I have very few issues with rebuilding them. Check out rip tripper's youtube video on microcoils in a protank head. That is pretty much how i do it and it works great. best of luck.

Don't give up. I use 30g on my evod and it works great. 30g and 9 wraps it's like 2.3ohms and heats up so quick even at 3.7v. I usually run it around 4.1 or 4.2

I use either a small precision screw driver or a small machine screw to wrap on, then I squeeze the coils together with tweezers and torch till it glows. Then they'll stay together perfectly
