OLD, old thread, but I just have to say "3% and it's nasty"?!? No way lol. I'm head over heels with this flavor and have mixed it as high as 8%. An amazing base and goes very well with chocs and vanillas or even caramels!

My hot button #8 issue has come back to haunt me. I swear I've tried everything and I'm about fed up with it...Has anyone had this issue with SLR? I've taken the assembly apart so many times sanded the inside of the cup and lips of the cup, sanded the firing pin completely down cleaned...

No problems with this, but I haven't sanded down to brass on some of the parts that face the inside of the tube just for that reason. It was purely a cosmetic tactic for me, love that polished brass look.

The whole assembly is loose unfortunately, the threads are stripped from taking it in and out. I just got back from home depot and lowes and couldn't find a nut or washer even small enough to begin to fit on the inside. I'm curious could I just put a little bit of solder on each side of the inside?

Where can I find a cheap 13a? Think that's what I'm headed to next. I agree to an extent about the number 8. It was perfect when I first got it...but then once I dipped into the SLR realm I ran into a hot button issue :/. I love my number 8 though it's a beast!

Fingers cross, there was some loctite still left under the brim on the middle part of the button. Got all of it off, and everything seems to be perfect now. I'm going to have to find something to put under the button assembly. Whether it be a nut or small washer, because the button is very loose...

So to retighten the button then my only options are to obtain some very small washers or nuts. I'm wondering what the heck it was locked into place with in the first place...before I removed it that is.

Yes I cleaned EVERYTHING. It is still very likely that the end of the firing pin still isn't completely flat causing the button to heat. :(

Cleaned off everything extremely well with steel wool. Sanded down under on the outside and inside where the button assembly sits. It fires perfectly everytime now, BUT now the button is once again getting fairly warm. I'm not going to say hot, but close. This is highly annoying to me, and very...

Thank you for this I just right before I saw your post started sanding and cleaning everything in the button assembly, going to clean everything now I guess. It's firing alot easier now, but it's still bleh. I hope that I can get this issue fixed, I absolutely love everything I've done and hope...

Well while I fiddle with this button here's a short video of everything I've done to my #8. Hopefully my editing skills get better in the future, first time ever lol. Again much thanks to everyone in the thread, Winchel and Rader especially.

I practially had to my button was getting ......edly hot at low ohms it fires like a champ now, except for when I mount it with loctite.

Maybe I can try mounting it with teflon, but I'm not sure really.....

Ok so heres a problem I'm having I fixed my hot button issue completely, but every time I loctite the button assembly back onto my number 8 it won't fire. I remove it from the body and leave it unsecured but still mounted on the mod and it fires. What am I doing wrong...I've been trying to fix...

Ok I lied, one more question.... The piece that screws up and down to lock the button, plated brass or just SS? Aka can I torch it lol. It's the last thing on my mod that needs cosmetic attention!
