From that thread and the comments by Lina at Joye Tech I think they're referring to the wide gold ring around the battery end connection of the new "enclosed" atomizer. The site in question has both atomizers side-by-side for comparision. At least... that's what my understanding when reading it...

Interesting read... but my attys are the old style 510's (narrow gold band) not the wide band looking ones I see on that site. :) The difference I'm seeing is on the inside where the mesh/bridge is joined. The ones I've been using have exposed joins whereas the new ones seem to have a flat disc...
