While I'm not a huge fan of some of the newer juice, I think you know that this is not a true statement. If you're comparing V4L equipment to a mod, you're absolutely right, the mod is going to win, but that's why IT'S A MOD. V4L is very good at what they do, get people to stop smoking (YMMV)...

I love 3.7V, especially with a LR atty. The battery lasts longer and it's a much more consistent voltage than with 5-6V. I'd LOVE a ST mini, especially with the silver/chrome finish!

I've never had an issue with auto shortys but any time I get too much air in my draw on a battery, I block one or two holes with Elmer's glue. if you go overboard you can just peel it off.
