Yeh, I only used to use spaced nickel coils but was thinking of the space constraints in the Gem deck. May try a nickel coil in the Gem tonight.

Thanks I carefully filed my posi screw down a tiny bit and it still shorted so filed a tiny bit more and now it is not shorting. This is on 28g so quite sure it will short again if I try 26g. I am not happy to file it any more in case I reduce the screwdriver channel to much and weaken it.

Q, Turbocad, I know it would be a PITA for you but would be interesting to know your results of the posi screw test to see how yours compare to mine. No worries if you don't want to strip yours down.

I had thought of filing the screw IDV but not of swapping the screws which is a good shout, assuming they are slightly different. Time to revisit my pictures.

I knew the rubber pin was there dems but thought that was to stop the ring turning to far, I didn't realise there was a metal pin as well. MB ticked every box with this one.

I only noticed this morning but what a clever little trick the little rubber pin on the AFC ring is, allowing it to move freely and yet not be loose. :):):)
