I use kanthal and silica for the last year, blow torch the wick before using it to get rid of any manufacturing contaminates that might effect flavor. Have not tried cotton yet as I like to use the torch for cleaning every 3 or so days.

I use a plumbers torch, of course this is with silica wick. My process is pretty quick (under 5 minutes) and has always worked great for me. Disassemble head from tank and rinse under hot water, torch the wicks until clean and dry, dry burn the coil until the crystallized juice turns to ash...

Make sure it's not actually burning the juice, even just trace amounts of smoke from a hot spot on the coil will give me a bad sore throat and ruin my taste buds for a week.

I tend to tell folks that it's a P.hallic E.lectronic N.icotine I.nhaler S.ystem ... and then take a big mouthful of vapor, usually gets a giggle or two :vapor:

I've always stacked a pair of 18350's and get about a day to a day and a half out of them.

I got an iclear30 about a month ago to try out. It lasted 5 hits. Tasted great on those first few hits, then the coils shorted, and tank cracked. Tossed it. I got a protank at the same time, I want to like it (it is very aesthetically pleasing), but have yet to get that metallic/oil/something...

Sorry but it IS the shops fault (if that's where it happened). The retailer is responsible for securing these kind of things, and that includes having honorable and secure card processing if they accept cards.

This happened to me the other day. I concluded that it was nerves in my instance. Was near the end of a stressful day, and several things in a chain of events were tweaking me a bit. Vaping started to taste horrible, thought well it must be time to clean. However my other setups also tasted...

When I first started vaping back in 2009 my goal was to quit cigarettes, gone back and forth over the years, mainly due to life situations. Current goal is to eventually lower the nicotine content of the fluid to 0 and then maybe only use the PV for the flavor vise, or just give it up entirely...
