Maybe it's just me, but I got one with and VTR that I purchased and compared to a protank, the flavor was a bit muted. I only used it for a day or 2 so maybe I didn't give it a chance. Does it get better after a few days?

Probably protected. Too long. Get some unprotected IMR 18650's for high drain and you'll be fine.

Beg to differ. Both should read 4.1-4.2 volts fully charged. If they are fully charged and read 3.7 volts then it's time to recycle them.

It all depends on the charger that you have now. If it is designed for NiMh rechargeables then it probably will NOT work with an 18650. I have the Nitcore/sysmax I4 and it has been flawless for over a year. They are not too costly either (~$20).

Sounds like your atomizer may be shorted or you laptop is destroying the batteries.

I'm having a hard time imagining what you are seeing. Pictures? Anyway sounds like you may have pulled out some of the wick which delivers the juice to the coil.
