I hope someone comes along with more help. But for now I will say my manual also said positive side up on the battery. I also watched a YouTube video that showed positive side up. As for the charger I can't help you on that. I'm using the batteries but not the charger. I just didn't trust it...

I second the MVP2. It's smaller than it looks in pics so it fits in the hand great. Battery lasts a long time. All toppers I've tried so far fit. My favorite topper for my VV V3 have been the Smok RBC. They are cheap, vape great, and protank coils fit them.

I don't have a Kayfun but it will take any 510 tank. Maybe someone with a Kayfun will come along to give you a positive answer. I love my K1000 tho :)
