I've been using nothing but an iStick with a nautilus mini for about two years now. I use 1.6 coils and usually have the setting anywhere between 16-18w. Never had a burnt or dry hit at that setting. My juice is 80/20 pg/vg.

It all depends on your juice and vaping style. I use a light colored, 80/20 PG/VG juice, and I vape moderately. My Aspire BVC's get changed every two weeks. They aren't dead at two weeks, but thats when I notice a change in taste.
