To get the top cap off, screw the battery tube onto where the top ring goes.. Rock it back and forth like was said above... It's on there really really reeeely tight!!!!! Then "if" you get it off... Lol, good luck getting back on...hehe... Its pretty tough, seriously :/

If its like the vamo I got from ft, it might have the spring loaded center pin.. The top cap is pressed on, also the center pin is pressed in from the inside.

I got a v5 from fasttech and it has a spring loaded 510 pin that gave out within a day. Luckily I purchased a replacement top cap from ecigaretteimpressions for another v5 ,, so I ended up using the extra pin and now I have 3 working vamos!!

You could replicate/substitute the flavor wick using a tiny bit of cotton.. But yea, I'm sure a cigarette lighter will do the job.. I save my bic for "other reasons".. and just use the stove for burning things lol..
