It really depends on the person. If you have a lot of gear, maybe you could invite them over and show them the benefits of your larger and more advanced gear. For more newb-friendly stuff, here's some random thoughts:

I agree the OPs wrap count is off, everything else could be sane. Let's see on steam engine:

Here's 28AWG at 1 ohm "A" coil: Coil wrapping | Steam Engine | free vaping calculators
Wraps are 4.44 (HeatFlux: 178mW/mm²)
Here's 26AWG at .5...
Consider easing back on the vaping in the days/hours leading up to the gig. It's still hot vapor that isn't great for the body. Higher nic might help prevent desire to chain vape. Then you can chain vape when you get off stage ;)
Few more tips you probably already know: room-temp (or better...
Clearly you are not in the sub-ohm craze and have me curios. Have you gone "low" and like higher resistance better? I plan on trying a 1.5 ohm build next anyway just to test the waters, I've 'only just begun' (coming from clearos!)!
Are we having fun yet? Who's next?
I am running my Kanger Subtank mini rba deck on .9 ohm (spaced 4 wrap 28awg IIRC) at 13 watts and it is cloudy and flavorful. The OCCs were fine but I prefer the rba I think (even though I'm still a bit of a build novice). Many others seem to run it at 25+ watts and lower resistance. I had it at...
Guys, coil-life depends on so much, juice content, usage, wattage, build, device, gauge, wick, etc.
That said, temp control should promise longer-lasting wicks of its working right, though by how much is quite unclear
80/20 VG/PG ? That's pretty high VG, you may want to wait for the V3 (released with the new Subox kit but not yet available seperately) OR alternatively some have had luck drilling out the holes. Further, though I haven't mastered it yet, you could try rip trippers pancake wicking method...
lovin' my Subtank mini on an I stick. So as an ego + BCC guy, naturally I would like to have an ego-sized battery to go with a ST nano as a backup/at-work kinda thing, problem is, egos can't go sub-ohm! Ego One is interesting and might fit, what do you guys think?
My ADV is Hangsen RY1 around 4%. I recently started adding Vanilla (VZ SC "gourmet"), few drops per 30ml. Nearly every non-tobacco flavor I've ever tried I couldn't vape more then 5 minutes, which is too bad, they all sound so good
Also played around with RY4, but prefer the RY1...
I might be way off, but I just upgraded from EVOD-style tanks to a SubTank.
What's that? Oh, I know, I know, everyone is talking about this thing elsewhere, and I don't have the experience to say if it's better or worse, but I'm liking mine. It has pre-built replaceable coils AND an RBA section...
I want to thank everyone for their informative musings on the math behind this stuff. Still, I'm kinda with the original poster here, so I'll ask his question in a different way: "There seems to be a lot of hype about "sub-ohm" recently, on a mech mod this seems to make a lot of sense, but many...
As I understand the smallest airhole is for mouth-to-lung, my only method of vaping...until the subtank. The small airhole leads to really hot air, and I'm afraid that will only make things worse if he is already coughing. After messing with the thing for a few minutes, I (much to my surprise)...
No problem. The subtank was quite a step from what I was using (BCC clearos, think Evods/MT3s). The vape is hotter, even at 15 W. One trick I'm learning is to actually suck pretty hard, if you don't suck hard enough the hot air is too dense. This thing is a beast.
Another poster suggested 12...
18mg? I DiY and have a 16.5 mg recipe I use in BCC tanks. When I got my subtank I dropped it to 6mg. Too strong, threw it out, tried 4mg: Perfect. Drop your nic level! "Peppery" is how the taste of nic is often described. What flavor(s) are you using?
Edit: I'll also add I've switched from...
