I'm not a new user, but I send my friends to NC Vape Shop because Mike's all about customer service - he even knows which type of insulator I prefer in my Kanger coils. Glad to see the SMOK T-Dux tanks I suggested, too!
I haven't seen the perfect bottle, but glass is always nice. Glass is...
Contrary to popular belief (and your nose), acetone is an organic solvent that is not toxic, and evaporates cleanly. You should be able to use a pure (100%) acetone solution in lieu of grain (ethyl) alcohol.

NC Vape Shop is a legitimate vendor with outstanding customer service. Combined with their great prices on their authentic gear, they are my new go-to vendor for hardware. Next will evaluate their juices. Nice job, Mike.
I am considering ordering a 25x19mm (Halfling) and I'm wondering if ibtanked is the only source for the shorter cartomizers.
I have seen other short cartomizers, but don't know if they're compatible.
OCD - you're probably not a gearhead, but a proper name for the 25x19mm would be oversquare.
Thanks for this useful post. How laborious is the desiccant process? Are there other adsorption means for the water on the ethanol? Would a low-temp distillation be effective to get the water percentage down?
For the ones with a solid plastic tip, you can use a blunt syringe to fill those through the hole. just aim toward the edge of the cartomizer and don't put more than 0,5mL or so.
Compared to the Protank, the EVOD seems to prefer a cooler coil. You'll want 0.5 to 1.0ohm more resistance with the EVOD than with the Protank, otherwise you risk burning fairly quickly.
Protanks are good, but often much better with a rebuilt coil. Don't give up on it yet.
Make it like you're steeping tea, except use glycol instead of water.
- Get a quarter cup (or less) of rolling tobacco, pipe tobacco, or a finely chopped cigar. The less added sugar, the better.
- Put the dry tobacco in a glass jar or Pyrex measuring cup
- Heat 75-80mL (3oz) of propylene...
I'm finding that unbleached coffee filters actually do quite well in removing all (visible) particulate and leaving a translucent liquid. Double or triple filtering doesn't seem to have a significant effect, yet.
Kanger tanks will only leak if the coil is not assembled properly and there's internal seeping or weeping from the tank into the center which will eventually come out the air hole in the center. This can usually be helped by replacing the silica "flavor wicks" with dye-free (organic if you care)...
Interesting. Usually the very low pressure ("vacuum") is sustained with a pump, such as freezing ice at low pressure to remove bubbles. What you're saying is you're going to extract without air, but your PGA/VG/tobacco mixture will not be under vacuum, unless you keep that pump running the...
This is the single biggest problem with the Kanger coils. That white rubber plug at the bottom is some cheap urethane that burns way too easily. If someone made a proper silicone rubber version of they same, they could charge just as much as Kanger does for their coils. it is the Achilles...
Are you still using silica, or have you upgraded to cotton? I've rebuilt a couple of Kanger BCC with 400 Stainless Mesh, and they like the dry burn. Because they're so damn durable.
Of the artificial sweeteners, sucralose has the highest heat stability, and is less likely to burn or change (physically or chemically) at the coil. Being in a glycol solution should increase the ethyl maltol stability, but it cannot match sucralose in that regard.
Rather than write convincing statements, it might be interesting to ask, "are you in the pocket of special interest groups." Better yet, find out where your senator or representatives get their campaign donations. The majority will be from special interest groups. If big tobacco is one of...
