You could try, but sometimes Loranns plus factory flavoring = ugh! Besteciggy apparently makes their own juice, so it might be loranns to begin with, but it's trial and error.

One more note on the scrubber pads (sorry), on the back of the packaging it states in bold "not for use in aquariums". This implies there could be toxic substances not for consumption, perhaps from the manufacturing process.

I take it PG does not do the same? Also, what did you flavor with? Glycerin is a happy place to be for bacteria, in fact it is used in culturing. If you are particularly susceptible to sinus infections to begin with, the glycerin could have facilitated the process by transporting bacteria...
