i saw an awesome Li-Ion charger at the local hobby shop...
IIRC the charger was for those RC cars but can charge any battery as long as you know the specs of the battery, now if i could justify dropping >$100 on a charger.
it also might be the protection circut kicking in and shutting the flow of electricity off because the battery's protection circut board doesn't allow as much power to flow as compaired to what the atomizer is trying to use; the Protection board sees that excess draw of current it thinks there...
2 regular AA batteries don't put out enough voltage and definately not enough wattage to power an atty.
there is a mod made based on that energizer case,, but the creator had to use a 3.7v 14500 battery to get volts/watts to power it... i'm not sure if he managed to get a steady 5v output...
you don't happen to know which version of the 905 you have do you??
is it's battery connector totally sealed like the Version 2?
or does it have a hole in the centerpost of the batt connector?
i'm looking for the mod scubadan posted about modding these to work with cartomizers without the...
if you are talking about the switch in the tail cap.... it won't work because inorder to make room for an 18650 you must remove the switch entirely and then find something to fill the hole where the rubber switch cover is.
be112 (801 compatible attys) or BE901s handle 5vpretty well.
imo 510 gets too hot for great vaping at 5v.
i like 901s from bestecig.com
just get a 510 to 901 adapter and a few BE901s.. (there are us suppliers for them)
and try that on for size ;)
i second that oppinion.... sounds like protection circut on batteries kicking in because they see the power drain at exceedes the protection circut's built in triger points. or possibily the protection circut sees the masive power drain and thinks it is a short circut (which an atty is BTW)...
sounds to me like you have a set of batteries that have seen better days... how long have you been using this set of batts?
one thing you can do to extend the life of batteries is:
never use them until they quit producing vape... infact i change mine out as soon as vapor production...
batteryjunction.com sells NON RECHARGEABLE CR2 batteries for $1 each.
or if you are in a hurry to test and use your new mod, CR2 non rechargables can be found at most drugstores in the hearingaid battery section, but they usually cost about $10 for a set of 2.
so you can get batteries...
i'd steer clear of those unless you can get the full specs from the manufacturer....
while only RECHARGABLES need the overdischarge protection,,, a true protected cell should also have OVER-CHARGE PROTECTION and SHORT-CIRCUT PROTECTION in addition to the stated OVER-DISCHARGE PROTECTION...
just ignore the previous post,,, i went and got most of my stolen stuff back....
i can't believe my own family would steal from me after i've given them e-cigs and batteries at cost and even free at times....
ok i had my CR2 charger i bought from DX get stolen my a relative yesterday... (he also got 10 non-rechargable CR2s from battery junction. and maybe even a few of my attys).... family sucks:mad::mad::mad::mad:
but what really ticks me off is that i just sold him my last SPARE charger for...
check this link... these can be purchased for $30 and can handle two 14500s for 3.7v input (must run parallel) BUT the dc 2 dc boost board pumps up voltage to 5V (but this chip is not as stable as the TI boost boards
mintyboost... altoid box w/ boost board.... replace the usb out w/ a...
