Burned Carto Checking Resistance

Just got my first Cartos and tanks. Thought i'd get smart and check the carto resistance to avoid wasting juice in case the carto was a dud. Checked the ohms on the Provari, carto OK, fully primed and filled tank, instant burnt taste. Obviously burned checking it dry. I'm assuming now (the...
