Galvanic corrosion. Two pieces of metal contacting each other will corrode. Add electricity and it accelerates the process. I think you've got it nailed down now. Keep the contact points squeaky (including any threads) and you should have minimal voltage drop. Best of luck!
Sorry if this was already mentioned. What about a sub-ohm forum with a "read this first" sticky? The forum title would reel in any newbie cloud chasers and they might learn something about the do's and dont's in the process. There's already ad-nauseam about all the info. Just not in one spot.
In the US we have mega stores for construction (Lowes, Home Depot). They have an entire aisle devoted to fasteners i.e. nuts and bolts. If there is a store like that near you, take the aqua in with you and you might find something to match. A hardware store will likely have the same setup.

Search Kringle's Curse. I've never tried it, but it seems to be a very popular flavor. It also seems to be a pain to get the flavor out of your tanks. There are numerous solutions for that particular problem. Good luck!
