I'd personally vouch for the EvOD kit. Was my first kit. Great battery and very durable.

Maybe you didn't let the juice sit in the clearomizer long enough and just got "dry" hits. I fill mine and let sit for a few minutes. My personal recommendation would be to get bottom coil fed tanks. Rarely get dry hits. Steeping also helps with flavors on certain E-juices. Never tried Johnson...

You can also get juice that is ultrasonic steeped. My juice supplier (Jmac Vapes) does it for 40 min and the flavor is hugely improved.
