The I clears have dual coils. On a dual with 2.1 rating, each coil is 4.2. When one coil stops working, it will then read only the coil left intact. That would explain part of the discrepancy.

Do you know what wires they use in disposable coils such as aspires?

I am concerned about what metals are in each as I am allergic to some metals and want to minimise the risk. Both seem to contain Nickle (bad) and Cromium is in one of them also. Going for testing soon to find out which metals are bad for me and dont want them to tell me I have to go back to cigs.

Started with the iclear16, then went to aspire types, and a rebiuldable dripper. Just redicovered the iclear and it IS my favorite now. Best flavor and good vapor. Gonna buy exra coils and continue boiling the old ones to freshen.
