yeah, I have 2 other hcigar kayfuns. I know it should feel like I am pushing against something that wants to push back but when i put the blunt tip (syringe) in, nothing. No push back. I think it might just be defective. Anyway to fill it from the top w/out it gurgling?

Cool, that really helps out. It makes sense now why you can let the mesh touch the deck. It just didn't come together for me before but of course if there is no current in the mesh, having the mesh touch the deck is fine.
