    Resistance-No Resistance wire welder

lol yeah, that's the same one I ordered as well same reason, I won't use it enough to justify a 'better' one. It'll be lucky if it sees more than a couple uses a year, I don't need anything more expensive or fancier

    Resistance-No Resistance wire welder

that's why I limited my sources to more reputable places than wikipedia LOL I think you're right, that vaping off any of these is most likely safe enough....but since we're talking about arc welding these wires it seemed relevant to look at vapors produces while melting them. Sure, it's small...

just thought I'd share this here.....with the discussions about "why use silver when nickel is so cheap?" Resistance-No Resistance wire welder

yup :) I should've doubled up my order for the Digi-Key parts, but I've spent waaaayyyy too much on 'hobbies' lately.....between the vaping and all its accessories, the straight shaving and all the 'acquisition disorders' that accompany that, and the 3 moderately to heavily modified subarus in...

    Kanthal and silver order

Yeah, I didn't expect it to make any difference resistance-wise...I was wondering more about the physical connection. I suppose it shouldn't make much difference though if I'm soldering them together. I just like to overthink things LOL what the hell, at that price it's worth trying either...

    Cooking liquid?

They definitely seem burnt. In a couple cases they actually broke into 2 pieces. Both pieces look nice and clean up until the broken ends....at the very end, just about the last millimeter fades very quickly from clean to a dark brownish-black, then to an ashy grey at the broken tips...
