I just cleaned my atomizer head as my tank had gotten flooded. I dry burned it and added some wick that had been used in another head. But now I'm getting a burnt taste, could it be the wick?

I have a protank 2 mini and a cheap top wicking clearomizer and I get a very cool vape with the pro tank and a very warm vape with the clearomizer. I'm not sure if it's the juice I'm using or not but I think I get more flavor with a warmer vape. Is this true or am I imagining things? I know...
