I find that I sometimes get spitting when I have the watts set to low and the liquid doesn't completely vaporize because I like a cooler vape. Try bringing up your wattage a little bit at a time and see if that solves the problem.

I believe everyone has that challenge when they make the change to vaping, I know I coughed quite a bit the first day. I moved to DTL hits and the coughing stopped almost immediately so you may want to give it try.
