I have been out of vaping for a few years and just bought the boro device listed above. I was used to building my coils using kanthal. Now, I see so much has changed. What is the wire of choice along with cotton? I see a lot of pre made coils and am just curious as to what I should do. What ohm...
Trying to get back into it. I had a VS-DNA30 and loved the size and simplicity. Anything out now close to that size that has temp control and is regulated?
Just getting back to vaping and picked this up today. I also purchased the super tank which I've learned have kanthal coils. The predator has a lot of settings, I just set it to wattage for kanthal coils correct?
Day 2 with the mini and I am already get the burnt cotton taste with the stock .5ohm coil. I am using the vapor shark dna30 at 25 watts, nice warm vape with the biggest airflow opening. Wish it was a touch more air but for what it is, it's really good.
Aal,
For some reason I can't quote. Either way, it's a 7/8 or 8/9 wrap. I used steam engine, I will first try a lower ohm coil. I have 24 gauge kanthal but just did not care for it. I only bought the 26 because these new RDA's have some big .... holes that do not like 28 gauge.
Back to the Mephisto. I now have dual micro's with 26gauge kanthal at .5ohms, why can't I get a warm vape? Do I need to get down to .3 or lower? Or do I go back to a single coil at .5?
If the drip tip is a wider bore than yes. I find on some of my smaller bore tips, when I drip strait in, I get some juice in the mouth. I run around .5 to .8ohm coils and tend to drip every 4-5 vapes. I am a lung hitter so that tends to burn up my juice.
So with the nickel builds, I see the majority of the coils ohm out super low. Do you treat the super low builds the same as kanthal? Also what about battery safety? Is this any different or the same principle?
Those using the Mephisto, what builds are you enjoying? I've tried 24 gauge and didn't care for it. Now I have a twisted 28 gauge and still can't get a warm vape. This is at .5 ohms...
Good deal, I am using a .6ohm coil at 26.5 watts on the rDNA30. A while ago I downloaded an OHM's law app and it helped me a lot when trying to find the right wattage. Bump the wattage down or up until you find the sweet spot.
