Hybrid Scottish Roll (rayon w/cotton core)

The Scottish Roll wick was a game changer for me, resulting in a consistent wick every time using either cotton or rayon. So I decided to take it a step further; I roll up a thin, pretty tight cotton wick, and roll a thin, stretched-out layer of rayon around it. The end result is the pure...

    What just happend in Cali?

Well, I was holding out on stocking up on nic base and learning to DIY, as I found a really inexpensive juice that's been my ADV for over a year, but I guess it's time to rethink that. California Uber Alles

Don't see the point of drippers anymore..

Haha! Right at this moment I have twisted 24/28ga, 11 wrap duals at 3mm on a cricket/Velocity. It's a thing of beauty. Intense without being too hot. I agree on the Clapton comment though, I'm not huge on them but plenty of others are as you are aware.

Don't see the point of drippers anymore..

IMO 22ga builds on mechs are meh, you'll get way better performance on mech mods out of higher gauge wire in parallel, twisted, or specialty configurations. My opinion only of course. Drippers will never die, at least not until someone invents something that can deliver more flavor and vapor...

    Flavor chasing

+1. I like 8 wraps @ 2mm, dual coils, run at 65 watts. Usually ends up at .45 ohm.

    Beer mouth

A custard or vanilla goes well with a nice Imperial stout. Unflavored would be a good all-around beer drinking vape though. I don't know why, especially after smoking for over 20 years, but I just can't hang with tobacco flavors. I'm sure I'm missing out, but they all taste like ash to me

    Explosion at my local shop

You can use them on any mech mod. However, most mech mods are 22mm, with some being 16, 24, 28 and 30mm as well...it will be tough to find a perfect aesthetic fit. But yeah, any size atty will technically work on any mech. Just might look a little silly.

    Explosion at my local shop

I wouldn't call it defending, more like explaining to the uninformed. Besides, the OP was about an unregulated box, a completely different animal. Total derailment here. As soon as I saw Imren battery all credibility was lost anyway. Call me a battery snob if you will, but I use mech and...

    Explosion at my local shop

VHRB wasn't responding to your post, he was responding to the OP. Mech mods, in educated hands, are nowhere near "loaded weapons". Also, with the advent of 200w+ regulated mods and subtanks, mech mods seem to have lost their "cool" factor with the hipster types. In all reality, a mech mod is...

    Indulgence Mt-Rta

For those of us using rayon to wick this beast, I get no leaks, flooding, dry hits, or leaking after filling at all with how I'm wicking it. Give this a try: Start with the Scottish Roll wick style. Look it up if you're unaware of how it works. Basically, cut the length you want to use...

It is a bit restricted compared to newer drippers, I'll give you that for sure. But the flavor is still close to unbeatable when built correctly, at least for me. To be fair, I do flip the sleeve and use a chuff cap to maximize the airflow.

Wotofo Sapor and OG Plume Veil are sharing the throne right now. I have a Kennedy 22 arriving tomorrow to possibly send them packing.

    Indulgence Mt-Rta

I switched mine up today to a couple of 2.5mm 8-wrap coils of twisted 28ga wicked with a ton of rayon. Now I can honestly say I'm getting RDA quality flavor and vapor. The MT is a BEAST :rickroll:

    Indulgence Mt-Rta

Forgot to mention...first thing I did, even before cleaning it, was drill a hole opposite the fill port. The biggest flaw I saw in the design is fixed. Now to find a nice, fat delrin drip tip to cap it off, then I'll be in hog heaven. The stock tip is a tad short for my liking. Otherwise, this...

    Indulgence Mt-Rta

Been following this thread for a bit, seems a bit derailed...I'll bring it back in check. Count me aboard the MT bandwagon! Received my Project Sub-ohm MT today. It was a fiddly build, but I shoved dual 24ga kanthal 3mm 10-wraps in there, wicked it with Shiseido, and filled 'er up. Running at...

RDA DotMod - Petri RDA v1.5 - BIG Issues!!!

Twisted kanthal works great in dual coil config. I use twisted 28ga duals pretty much exclusively. You'll just need to use a bit more power than normal to run them. My stock build is 8 wraps around 2mm, ends up around .4 ohm and takes 65 watts to get them to really sing.

    RDA Sapor RDA by Wotofo

Nice to see this thread still going. The Sapor has kicked my Plume off the throne, finally. I spent a few months tinkering with builds, couldn't find the sweet spot, and ironically threw my Plume build in there and raised the coils so the mid-point is about even with the top of the posts. Wicked...

    Mech mod not firing properly

One more thing, now that I'm thinking about it. OP, I've been using rebuildables for over two years now, and I like to think I've become pretty darn good at it. That being said, I've never built a setup with 22ga that I've been satisfied with as a nice all day vape. My issue is that the thick...

    Mech mod not firing properly

In summation: 1. Be sure the positive pin at the 510 connection on your atty is protruding past the negative threads. If it's not, or you don't know how to check this, you should not be using a hybrid-style mech mod. 2. Your button may be shorting out. Take it completely apart, clean it...

Is the max wattage the same on a 1.2ohm coil stock coil vs. rba?

OP, the answer you're looking for is "it depends". If you build a coil on the RBA deck that is the same as the stock coil, then yes. But not all 1.2 ohm coils are created equal. You could build a big, beefy 24ga kanthal coil at 1.2 ohms that will take much more wattage than a stock coil. Or you...
