Already thing about my 2nd project, question about this box

So the dimensions for clearance inside the box is roughly 106 x 79 x 25.7 mm (LxWxH). The diameter of a 26650 battery is 26mm and the clearance height is only 25.7mm. This rules out the use of 26650 batteries. The dimensions of a dual 18650 battery tray is roughly 79 x 40 x 22mm. As you can...

    SX-350 Mod - Pi

asdaq you make a very valid point. One of the key reasons I went with that form factor is it was the best way to conceal the chip and charge port, without the need for a face plate. There were also technical limitations of the machine that factored in to the selection. It's very interesting...

    SX-350 Mod - Pi

asdaq - I just realized I misunderstood your question..... so the width is actually the same as the OD for the tube - roughly 25.5mm

    SX-350 Mod - Pi

The body was milled and the tube, 510 connector, pins, screws, trigger, batt cap and delrins were all lathed. BTW, just for clarity, I have not posted pics or discussed this anywhere else other than here. The pics and information floating out there on Vapor Joe's and FB were posted by a buddy...

    YiHi SX-350 Firmware upgrade

Hi Dank. It sounds like your describing the same issue I experienced. I would check in device manager to see if the device is in there and there are no driver errors. Also, do as Doc prescribed. He helped me resolve my issue.

    SX-350 Mod - Pi

Thanks for the compliments everyone! asdaq - it's 21mm. I figured it's safer to go big instead of having an overlapping atty. :) something_vague - you've found the trigger button. :) It's the textured rounded piece you mentioned, above the pi logo.

    SX-350 Mod - Pi

Ok, so here's what I've been hammering away at lately. It took a little longer than I had hoped for, but glad it's all done! :) This chip has been upgraded to 35 watts and also wired for reverse polarity protection. Just waiting on the 50 Watt upgrade. :) So far, the chip has performed...

    Sx350 help!!!

The only issue that I ran into with regards to battery is I got an error when I ran 2x18650 in series. The toggle fails to respond and you get some random character across the display. The max input voltage on that chip is only 4.5V. This is why it complained a little. So, putting the batts in...

    Heads up on DNA30D

I'm in the same boat with DrMA. I held out for the DNA30 but there was no ETA on that so I too went with the sx350. So far I'm very pleased with the testing of the sx350. Almost done with the build, can't wait to light that baby up!

    YiHi SX-350 Firmware upgrade

I was on a Windows 8 system. It did allow me to proceed, but when I went into device manager is when I saw that the drivers failed to load. When I proceeded to upgrade the drivers from there, that's when it grays everything out due to it not being signed.

Which metals do you prefer for your mods?

So if what you're saying is true then folks would jump at a mod with pure copper contacts (low voltage drop) and a body made of any other metals? I think the color and luster of copper plays a big part.

    RDA Copper cap

There's a similar discussion found in this thread... http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modding-forum/532967-copper-tubing-e-liquid.html I've been curious about this myself due to hearing how bad copper can be.

Which metals do you prefer for your mods?

Recently I've seen a big spike in any and all things copper. Is this the future of mods or is it only a current trend? I don't see that many products in the way of Titanium. Does anyone want to venture on why this is so? For me personally, the metal properties - weight, rigidity, and the...

    YiHi SX-350 Firmware upgrade

Ah! Looks like they described one of the issues I had. They should also include in there something about the drivers not being digitally signed and how to get around that issue. Thanks for the response Doc!

    YiHi SX-350 Firmware upgrade

Ok, a full night's rest, I found the problem. When you first plug the board to your system, it attempts to install a device driver. Though you may get messages from your system stating that the drivers installed successfully and is ready for use, it may not be the case. One way to check is to...

    YiHi SX-350 Firmware upgrade

Greetings all. So I received my batch of 4 sx-350 chips in the mail earlier in the week. I finally got a chance to unpack them tonight. BTW, the packaging was super duper secure. You only find this kind of packaging being jettisoned from speed boats off the Miami coast ;) Anyhow, I followed...
