My 401 pt doesn't have a battery. I pulls power directly from the USB port. It's definitely my preferred way of vaping. The no battery pt should be providing closer to 5V to your atty. I've done this and yes, my best 510 vaping experience has been with this mod. I'm still working on getting the consistency down. Some days the vaping is good, some days, I get flooded attys and no vapor.

I feel the same way. I haven't had an analog since I got my PT, and I am almost repulsed by the thought of smoking a real cig now. But I really wanted to stop smoking them. To me, vaping is infinitely preferable to smoking. It's been 3 weeks and I'm still a little giddy about how great it is.

12V appears to be the min. input voltage. Almost anything would be an improvement over the NiChrome coils, but with current batteries, I'm not sure a 12V PV would be feasible.

Vapped in my Data Structures class for the first time yesterday. My Prof is a smoker and thinks it's cool, but it was a bit distracting on some of the bigger draws, so I toned it down. I think the distraction of the vapor is the only legit complaint anyone could really have.
