Yeah the photos suck, I am generally not very good there to begin with. Unfortunately I only have a cell phone to get the
job done. I was more or less trying to figure out how to post photos and get the technical portions working correctly. Forum posting is relatively new for me as well...
BTW the store replacements were $5 a pop. I like the fresh coil and wick it has added a new dimension in flavor and enjoyment for me. That's why I started making them the simplest way possible for me. Maybe a tad crude but cheap and effective.
I am by no means experienced with micro coils or even ecigs in general. But I am an electrician by trade and it makes most sense to me to have an air gap even if ever so slight. The way I make the coils now is more a matter of necessity and trial and error. I am just lucky enough to have the...
The length looks a little long yet and the coils need a little bit of space between them resistance should go up a bit also I measure resistance at the pin and body once build is complete with a fluke multimeter. And resistance will rise a little on them after a day or two. Also it looks like I...
I have been leaving the factory circular piece In and getting the cotton at the lowest point down where it is exposed. It even some times drys out a bit much, but I blow back into it a little when that happens and keeps the juice fresh. A way of pressurizing it a little. I would like to try SS...
I'm not a copper fan either now. Turns my hands green , but it's what I have been dealing with. I tried for the brushed finish a well with my hardware copper mech mod, but it is slowly becoming polished from turning my hand green.
I just keep trying til I get what I want. Seems different combos work better than others. I even tried sub ohm twisted 28 ga. It worked well in short bursts, but not for me. For me it is 28ga at 1.2 ohm so far.
I would like to try a vertical build on mine just have to figure it out first though. I have had good results with my first horizontal builds thus far. The factory builds were lasting a few days to a week for me. But I like a fresh taste and good coil for big vape. That has made all the...
I have been building them with 5 or 6 wraps 28 ga. First I remove center pin and grommet then push out factory coils and heat shield. After hitting wire with heat from a lighter I warp it around a very small screwdriver. Then I tighten and press and shape new
Coil. Next I make a cotton wick...
I will be going that sort of route when I get to a box mod. Think I am going to use a kick with my current design and a better firing mech. Has anyone else used kick and does it work.
Been lurking this section of the forums for a couple weeks. I have completed my first copper mech mod with a twist. Now I am looking at where to go next. I am thinking a redesign of my current build with VV and safer firing mechanism. Followed by a atty if I can manage.
I have seen a few box...
Equipment cost and availability has been the problem for me. I now have a new B&M with in 30 miles. Reasonable prices and a good selection of quality gear.
I built my mech for under $1. It's a twist on the copper hardware store mod. Can't wait to do a proper mod with some protection though. 18650s with fast charge have been awesome though
Seems funny now, but a huge thank you to my local B&M sales rep. The Aspire Nautilus is what has made it happen for me, it still leaves a lot to be desired, but it gets the job done.
Due to the $$$ on the better gear, I have had to come up with some of my own to suit my needs and probably...
