What is the point of bottom airflow RDA'S?

I usually take a Kennedy Comp RDA to work with me, just because it works well and is small and fits in my shirt pocket while mounted on an Abaddon clone. I can just squirt my dropper of juice down the drip tip and vape away until it is time to go back to work. I don't have issue with it...

Whats up ECF! New member with a question about a box mod shorting...

I use my Raptor all the time and have never experienced such a thing. What is the RDA you are using? Does changing the RDA make a difference? I would take it apart and put it back together, it is not a complicated mod at all.

    VoltageDrop

The drop increases as the resistance decreases. This is due to the battery seeing greater load. OP is running a much lower build, so higher drop would normally be expected. But this is mitigated as the load per battery is lessened. As I said, much of it depends on your batteries, but some...

Help needed. Cotton burns too fast

coils are huge, watts are low. It probably takes a very long time to fire and takes forever to cool down once you fire it long enough to vape. Make some coils about half that many wraps. Start with 6. And don't use so much cotton. You need some space for air, especially under the coils...

You probably just need to clean it.

MCV Raptor T6 - the new mech box from the guys who did the Cherry Bomber!

I don't think anyone is able to answer this until we find someone who actually has acquired both. The design is the same, the difference might be manufacturing tolerances, but I don't have an authentic so I don't know how much better the tolerances are an the authentic (if they are better at...

MCV Raptor T6 - the new mech box from the guys who did the Cherry Bomber!

My switch button is perfectly flush. It doesn't back out. It has a short throw, and fires perfectly. Maybe the aluminum versions are done differently, but my copper one is perfect. I do keep it clean and have taken it apart many times. The switch button is just a square post with a spring...

    VoltageDrop

Thats great, but the main reason for the low drop at that low resistance is that there are 3 batteries. The majority of voltage drop (much more than the mod), is battery sag under load. With three batteries, each battery sees 1/3 of the load. You would probably get the same drop with a single...

    New To Mechs

Anyway, if you want to stay below CDR of the battery, .21 or higher builds hit that goal. If you want to use only 50% of the rated CDR (only using 10 amps instead of the rated 20), then you would need to build at .42. A .42 or higher resistance will require using thinner wire (like 26 or 28...

    most hard hitting?

This is not a good thread to start this discussion, unless you actually have experience with the mod. CB is a hugely-popular, well-working, hard-hitting mech mod. So is the Raptor, which works the same way.

    Your most embarassing vape moment...

I'm well beyond the point of removing caps to re-drip, but I still occasionally do things that I regret. I was once at a pub in Germany, showing off a dual battery mech, removed the batteries, and inadvertently put one of them back in the wrong way. I realized it a few seconds later, enough...

    most hard hitting?

The CB and my Raptor are probably my two favorite mods. I use them every day. They are copper and work really well. I have never accidentally caused either of them to auto fire. That is ridiculous. They are as much a ticking time bomb as a fast car, a good water heater, a tall building, or...

You're mod looks great. Don't stick a washer in there, especially if it is working well.

MCV Raptor T6 - the new mech box from the guys who did the Cherry Bomber!

Hmmm.. that sounds strange. Something is not right with that one. I probably would have sent it back or at least asked the vendor if they would send another one. Did you drill new holes? How does the top plate get offset?

    Resistance dropping after firing Claptons?

The core wires heat up fast and have a low resistance. The wrapping wire has a very high resistance and doesn't do anything electrically. It heats up, though, with the core wires.

RDA First RDA! Tugboat v2 or Velocity?

OK, sorry. I do have claptons in my Velocity right now. So it could be that I am wrong and just haven't experienced what a low-power build is like on the Velocity. I have both authentic Tugboat v2 and Velocity. My Tugboat v2 is much older and has been fitted with a steamstack wide-bore cap...

    Resistance dropping after firing Claptons?

The pic I posted above is on dual battery mech. It fires perfectly. I think 3mm ID is too big, and no more wraps than 5, maybe 6, is going to fit... even if you had something like a 26650 RDA and 9/10 wraps did fit, it would take forever to heat up correctly. Keep in mind that this is...

RDA First RDA! Tugboat v2 or Velocity?

I've got both of them and, although they are both great RDAs, I am surprised that any knowledgable vaper would recommend the Tugboat as a first dripper over the Velocity. The Velocity is easier to build and has far greater airflow options. The tugboat requires purchase of an additional top-cap...

    Resistance dropping after firing Claptons?

I've been using this build for a couple months now and it is fantastic. It's dual 24g ni80 core wires wrapped with 34g kanthal. These coils were wrapped on a 2mm screwdriver. It's on a mech mod though, and at about .08. OP, if you did 1 coil like this instead of the dual setup, your...
