Close to four weeks and struggling
other than this forum, the one thing that helped me quite was a stop smoking app on my phone. Not sure which one i had. I have changed phones and no longer need it. Count me on this one too! I wasn't a big fan of claptons either. So far my favorite is tripple twisted 28g a1 at 2.5id 7/6 wraps. I think i have tried just about all other suggestions, but keep coming back to this. -

It really should not bounce at all. I believe you have a loose connection some where. The burnt taste is arcing from the wire, or the legs getting hot. Try and lock in those connections. if you have the wick out. pulse the coil to see if the legs are turning bright red.- Msand

Something is defiantly off. In order to get a .5ohm resistance steam-engine is calculating 8/9 wraps at that ID. I would check you leads and make sure they have not snapped while tightening down the screws, or maybe you didn't get a screw tight enough. While you are in there you might want to...- Msand

@Zombo, thought of something while I was traveling. You might be able to twist them into vertical coils. If you don't have time to rebuild. Makes sure you pull them back as close to the post as possible to allow air to get in. Cut off the top wick tails. Might just work. Sent from my... -

Sorry i fell asleep after my first post, so i wasn't around to help. I can only imagine that you are blocking any and all air flow with this huge build. You could try to cut down your tails, but i don't think you will get them down enough. I would suggest switching to 2.5mm... -

Again it is all on what you put in it. When I have a dual Nickle build in. I only need to fill the tank once a day. With claptons. I now have to fill the tank 3 times a day. When I had twisted quads in. I had to fill twice a day. -

I was thinking the same thing as i was taking it out of the package, but i have yet to clip a wire yet. My first build was 4 32 gauge wires twisted to gather. Was trying to put quads in the new deck. Didn't work the way i wanted so i ended up pulling it out.. second build was 28 gauge nickle... -

So i tried quads for two days, and was just not working for me. Mine where 2.5mm 28g 6 wraps, and i was getting dry hits/ muted flavor at 40 to 55 watts. It was probably my lack of coil building skills. I went to a dual 3mm 28g nickel 8 wrap coils. With two air hole closed, flavor is amazing... -
