    Kayfun dark juice streaks

I tend to get this with darker, sweeter juices (Bounty does this for me). Sometimes its just the sugars, etc depositing on the coil and then burning. The clear, lighter juices tend to not do this as much. I like building micro coils and wicking with cotton. That way I can just easily pull the...

    New member, protank rebuild question

Agree with rodeo, I found that just building a single coil was simpler and was able to get a satisfying vape from using heavier gauge wire than stock coils. I was building single coils with 26 gauge at about 0.8 to 0.9 ohms running off a mech and found them superior to the stock dual coils. You...

    Dripper Reviews Rant

Seems like what you're looking for is a tank not a dripper. They both have their merits.

    Safety of various wicking materials

Well ... asbestos is incredibly heat resistant. What could be the harm?

So, i have some money to spend.

The MVP has a big following but I prefer a removable 18650 battery so that I can keep spare's charged and ready to pop in. Haven't owned the Vamo V5 but have a V3 and I would say I like the menu system on the Vamo better than the SVD. The Vamo menu is vertical whereas the SVD it will be upside...

Frustration Leads to first pure Mech

Funny, I started out thinking I liked fire buttons on the side but tried out a Nemesis clone cause I needed a mech for my dripper. Now it's what I use most of the time and thinking of getting an authentic one now.

    vg/pg

VG = Vegetable Glycerin PG = Propylene Glycol. In general VG will produce more vapour than PG but doesn't tend to carry flavourings as well. PG doesn't produce as much vapour but tends to carry flavour better. Most juices are some mix of the two depending on preference. Technically you can...

what is the best rda by popular oppinion

Depends on your budget but I think many will agree it's ideal to have a tank and dripper (or several of both :) ). As already said above, I don't like dripping when I'm out and about. Drippers are best when you can be sitting down and make use of both hands, a table, etc. (don't drip and drive...

    Draw Preference

Protanks tend to have airy draws. It's just the way they are built. If not into getting an RBA how about rebuilding the Protank heads? I found rebuilding the head on my Protank II down to 0.8 ohm gave more vapour and kind of offset that loose draw to a pretty satisfying vape. I mostly got into...

Need help ... Mech mod advice

Some good picks above already but consider one that gives you the option between 18350 and 18650 batteries (like the Nemesis, my fave). I find with an 18650 I take 1 spare batt and a bottle of juice with me and I'm out the door. Running a Kayfun at 0.9 ohms most of the time and one 18650 tends...

    New guy RTA question

Best advice I have on tanks would be to get one where you can adjust the airflow. Using 100% VG you may want to adjust the draw to how you vape. Currently my "goto" tanks are my Kayfun & Taifun. I'd say the Kayfun is easier to build. Not that the Taifun is too difficult but you do have to play...

    Vaping on the Road

One way to deal with changing temperatures that are affecting the viscosity of the liquids is to move to an atty with adjustable air flow. When you get a lot of gurgling sometimes opening up the airflow to a wider setting can slow down how much juice is drawn to the coils.

    Weird question

If you're concerned that "mouthfeel" is off though other variables haven't changed with your gear or juice maybe dehydration. PG and VG can dry you out (hygroscopic fluids ... they absorb moisture). I tend to vape heavy when I get home from work and after dinner and try to take in a lot of water...

Heavy or chain vapers - question for you

Used to smoke about a pack (sometimes more sometimes less) a day since I was 16. 24 years later I haven't had a cig since Jan this year. I go through about 8-10 ml per day. I'm at 6mg too. Started at 18 and been working my way down. I find I don't get jittery when I can't vape (like at work) the...

To Boil or not to boil

Best advice I have is try it without boiling. If it's a good vape for you then bonus ... less hassle. I never boil and I don't get any unpleasant flavour. Everybody has different sensitivities to tastes and smells. Sometimes the first few minutes vapeing there is an earthy cottony taste but it...

    Less irritating wicking material?

May want to check your build. When I started out rebuilding I would get an irritating harsh burning vape and on inspection of the coils when fired one of the legs would be glowing or there would be a part on the coil where there wasn't good contact between wick & wire and that would glow. The...

    Difference in Mechanical Mods?

Not all have adjustments to fit all batteries and atomizers and some are more versatile than others. There are too many to list but I'm going to mention my Nemesis which I would say is an icon in the world of mods. You adjust the pin to atomizer you are using so that you have a good connection...

New member in need of some help!

If you're finding the iClear underwhelming maybe you should be looking into rebuilding. It's definitely not for everybody but isn't as difficult as it looks once you get into it. It's the best way to get the most bang for your buck as well as tailor your atty to your liking.
