No luck so far with the step down module. Must be an amperage issue from the molex connector.
Not sure what to do now, really need to find something at a native 5A/6A I guess?
If I hooked up a PSU or a Laptop charger that is far more powerful than is required to this:
DC to DC Adjustable Step-down Power Module 7-20V to 1-16V with Dual-way Output | eBay
Could I just dial down the voltage and get it working?
Thanks classwife.
Does any one know what voltage/amp would definitely work?
Or at least some kind of educated guess at what I should be trying?
Thanks!
Oh no, now I am under pressure  haha!
I found a 5v 2a power unit but it returned "lo v" - only thing I have that is 3a is a 12v one but I am too afraid to try it
Is there such a thing as a variable voltage and variable amp unit? I am no electrician unfortunately, out of my depth...
I have now tried it at 6.7v and 8.3v and it changes from "Lo v" to "Lo". I assume that means there isn't enough amperage, but the voltage is fine.
Thanks for the reply Cjax, that is what I am worried about. If I was to get a 5v 3a power unit, would it read as "Lo v" because it detects a voltage...
Got the idea from my USB Indulgence adapter, it appears to work the same way just with the adapter hidden. I assume this could work on a lot of mods that don't have any sort of external power jack.
I will have a look around for a more powerful power unit. Is there any sort of voltage/mA I...
I used one of these:
with one of these:
Very simple hack, just widened the hole in the end cap and plugged them together. It works, reads 5.3V input but when I fire it, it just displays "Lo" or "Lo v"
Anyone have any suggestions on what I should be using as a power source to make this cheap...
Still holding off on any upgrades myself. I really still believe that he should be designing something more like the CE2 (as BigBulli has done, a repairable CE2). It is the obvious upgrade path in my opinion; the airhole needs to be located underneath the coil, the side mounted airhole design is...
I agree with JR, unless someone in the know at Royal Smokers tells us or Cetin, then I very much doubt we will ever work it out. I have tried quite a few things and nothing really came close, fingers crossed someone tells us or someone works out what it is
Cool reviews guys. CJ, there is plenty of information in this thread, perhaps have a little tinker, you should be getting flavour although this is quite a smooth vape compared to some atomisers. Although if you get the ohm right you can seriously rip a new hole in your throat from the kick haha...
Good to hear it has arrived vpingmonkey, keep us updated on the video. I want to see that vapour plumage haha!
If you could (although you might look a bit silly on the video), try to take the biggest drag you have ever taken and let everyone see the nice thick vapour. I do this quite often...
A hole through the bottom would definitely improve the device (just off centre). I am not 100% sure as I don't have a juice feeder, but couldn't you just thread the wick through a hole at bottom of the A2 into the juice container? It should wick up-wards, just like a CE2?
I am hoping he does an...
I really want to do a video of the plumes of vapour this A2 makes, just too camera shy haha
Fingers crossed some one will do a video as this is by far the most vapour-excessive atomiser I have ever had the joy of vaping.
That above picture appears to have an o-ring JR, I think? Although I guess you could take the o-ring from Cetin's if your replacement mouthpieces don't have one.
I ordered a spare mouthpiece from Cetin with the cone and I am 99% sure that my original one didn't come with an o-ring, 1% that I...
I just cut a sliver off a KR808D condom protector to use as an o-ring and its working good!
The mouthpiece, I think I know what that is. DSE701. Check me out
OKSmokey seems to sell the DSE701 but I cannot find the mouthpieces on there. I think Cetin will get them from here
Or are the...
Yeah the air hole is a bit troublesome to say the least. Shame really as it lets down a great device. I really hope he changes the air hole location on the A3
I read on the german forums that a person there received one with no airhole at all. So I am assuming the tubes are not made...
I have been waiting over a year now to see this product appear. Although I bare no ill feeling towards Janty even though as some may say, they sort of invite it. I am glad they told us about this product so early, although I think in the future they probably won't do it again. Not a bad or a...
I am surprised that the performance on my current winding hasn't dropped, I haven't cleaned it, blown it out, or anything. I haven't even unscrewed it since I did it. Usually on atomisers, by now, I would of blown it out a few times, maybe dry burned it also to try to give it some extra oomph...
