My understanding is that P4U started shipping the IPV4 without the board and simply plugged up the 9v charging port. I have a first release IPV4 with functioning charging port (never used it, prefer to charge batteries the old fashion way). I have not preformed the insulation fix but have not...
That is what it is totally starting to sound like. I contacted Yihi when the first update for the M class was released. They were very helpful and only asked me for my warranty card, which I took a picture of and attached it to my email. Turn around on them answering my email was less than 24...
Just on a side note, for those of you that have flat screens. Keep those boxes even if the warranty is up, when I moved to Texas from Sacramento the moving company charged my company $60 per flat screen for special boxes. The movers told me that if I had the the original boxes they came they...
I'm an R1 guy, have had too many to count but I have always loved and admired the Ducs. Have been riding since '85, first "sports" box was a '89 Katana 750. I know what you mean it seemed like sometime around 2001 all the superbikes lost about 150lbs and gained 50hp. Crazy. Makes me shudder when...
Raylee, have you reached out to Vapor Union? Not sure where you live but I did Google Vaper Union and it looks like it is a B&M with very high ratings. See if you can speak with the manager or owner. As I stated before Up in Vapor swapped mine out without the box. I now have to OG Sxmini boxes...
Welcome to the forum.
Didn't know the nano had a deck available for building. Mine only came with the two coils, or are you rebuilding the premade coils.
Although I keep all my boxes, I fully agree with @raylee. A company should honor a warranty regardless of the existence of the box or not. I have been to many a store vape shop as well as other specialty shops where they sell you an item without the original box (which unless there is a sizable...
@bullet08 I'm with you on the Praxis mod, own it but never sees much use at all. Strange thing too because I have spoke to more than a few people that love the Praxis. I guess to each his own. Btw after double checking my Praxis clone is the brass version and a silver fire switch. Shows how much...
@duc916 noticed your screen name, do you ride? Also noticed you are in NorCal, I moved to Texas from Sac. Texas is cool but I really miss home and the riding community up there.
@duc916 I did not try another atty after the incident so I don't know if it worked or not. I think I know what you are getting at, maybe the builder found an obvious problem with his build and fixed it. To save face he is just telling me everything is working. I'd be okay with this but not too...
Well, I dropped the mod off on Monday. The builder can't find anything wrong with it. Says that he has been using it for the last couple of days without incident. The guy is a friend and I have no reason to believe that he would be anything but honest with me. Offered to give the mod back to me...
This sounds like the most likely thing that happened. I feel better knowing that it was a builders flaw as opposed to a mysterious spontaneous one off equipment failure.
Assuming that this is what happened in order to salvage this box it looks like each switch connection point needs to be check...
Yeah that switch had me a little worried at first but mainly because I thought it would not hold up to the wear and tear of constant use.
@Froth, so if I understand you correctly you feel that the switch connection points were too close and my have arced causing the auto fire condition? I have...
I'm with you on the solder joint as well, depending on how it's wired if the resistor had come lose there could be a scenario where the current could run through the mosfet completely bypassing the fire switch. Either way scary stuff.
