Provari Radius acting wonky after 1 year

Good news! I'm totally surprised by this, but switching to the 2500 mah version of the Samsung battery appears to have eliminated the wonkiness completely! No more reboots!

Provari Radius acting wonky after 1 year

Appreciate that. I've never been above 36W even with 0.4 ohm coils and now that I'm building closer to 1 Ohm I'm down to the mid 20W's. So the battery is out as a factor. Turns out that taking the top piece off still doesn't give you easy access to the battery compartment. There's some other...

Provari Radius acting wonky after 1 year

I'm going to get a star screwdriver in a little while to take the top off and hopefully get a closer look at that scar on the positive terminal. In the meantime, I'm wondering if you'd be able to tell me if my battery is on the list of recommended cells. I can't find that any more. I got...

Provari Radius acting wonky after 1 year

So, what it is looking like is a slightly damaged positive pin. I've been poking around and found someone who had pretty much what I'm having. Turns out that you can damage that thing by using a button top battery and then flat top batteries will have problems connecting later on. Battery...

Provari Radius acting wonky after 1 year

So, just for the sake of completeness, new batteries made no difference at all. I have gotten a few trouble-free tanks and even batteries worth of Radius use in the days since I first posted this, but the wonkiness continues. It's hard to describe, but the thing just seems to be constantly...

Provari Radius acting wonky after 1 year

Turning into a good and very informative thread. I'll upgrade my batteries pretty soon to see if there's an improvement. In the meantime - these 0.8 Ohm coils are really great. They heat up so much faster than the 0.4s did and I'm using less power because of that. Awesome vape.

Provari Radius acting wonky after 1 year

You may have a point, most of the batteries in my rotation (I charge 4 batteries every day) are getting a bit old. But are the demands of a Radius so much greater than other mods? When I use these batteries in my backup at the same W setting with the same tank, there's never any problem at all.

Provari Radius acting wonky after 1 year

Yeah, I know. If I had two Radius', I think I would internal charge - but they shut down before I could get a second one. It's tough to put it down for 4-5 hours when I have a fresh battery already at the ready. I need to find a backup that I like as much as the Radius - or close.

Provari Radius acting wonky after 1 year

I finally got my Radius working mostly properly again without sending it in. Just going to post the solution here in case others in future run into the same situation. For most of my first year I've been building 0,4 Ohm coils for it and it worked really well (the lower limit is 0.3 on the...

Provari Radius acting wonky after 1 year

I've done all of those points. I've even immersed the spring and bottom piece in an alcohol bath for a few minutes. And I've immersed the bottom portions of my tank as well when I build a new coil. I've just scotch-taped 2 Q Tips together and that let me get to the top battery contact. I've...

Provari Radius acting wonky after 1 year

Didn't find any videos specifically for the Radius, but found this one I have a hard time believing that a bit of invisible gunk on the only contact I haven't been able to clean yet can be responsible for turning this mod from heavenly to a nightmare...but I'm willing to get (or make) some...

Provari Radius acting wonky after 1 year

Hi Guys, Just wondering if there are some Radius owners out there who have perhaps seen the same thing. I purchased my Radius about a month before ProVape shut down. I used it like crazy all of last year and it was incredibly reliable and I was totally thrilled with it. A few weeks ago...

WooHoo - I made it myself

I started out on EGO One heads which were very economical and stayed on those for 6 months. I could rewick those coils easily so I didn't spend a lot of money at all. The flavor and thick, rich vapor out of the Cleito 0.4 Ohm was a real eye opener though. I tried to switch to the Nautilus X...

WooHoo - I made it myself

Congratulations! I just started doing it myself too about a week ago. I never thought it was worth the trouble, but I moved to my first sub-ohm tank last month (Aspire Cleito - love the flavor off of this thing) and my juice bills just went through the roof. Had to do something. Stocked up on...

    Really bummed out now.. :(

Sorry about that. It does look like they changed the coil design on the new EGOs. These should work though and be almost the same....someone up above has already suggested it. Joyetech BF RBA Head for CUBIS/ eGO AIO/ Cuboid Mini Take a look at the 6th image. You need to screw the top off and...

    Alternatives to Ego One

Thanks for the recommendation. Will keep my eyes open for it. If anyone else is frustrated with the fussy EGo batteries: I ended up picking up a basic iStick TC60W at my local shop and it's really nice so far. I can use the 2 Ego One tanks from the 2 kits I purchased in the last 2 months and...

    Alternatives to Ego One

Hi Guys, I started vaping about 2 months ago. My main device has been an Ego One CT. I absolutely love it and have started doing my own rewicking a few weeks ago. Flavor is good, size/convenience is great. It's the perfect device except...I can't handle how fragile the battery is any more. If I...

    Really bummed out now.. :(

Get a pack of 5 Joyetech rebuildable coils (the CLR type). It is super easy to change the cotton wick on these. Get used to doing that and you can stop worrying about burning wicks prematurely. CLR Head (Rebuildable) - Joyetech

    Ego one not working

I've had 2 Ego One batteries die on me in the past 2 weeks. Not exactly like what you're seeing, but sort of close. You didn't mention it, but by any chance did you drop it, or did it tip over on a table or something right before it stopped working?

    Greetings From Montreal, Canada

OK, so wash before the dry burn, not after? Doesn't the dry burn break the caking of gunk off and then you need a rinse to get it off? Thanks for the congrats everyone. It was weird - I didn't even want to quit - just wanted to cut down a bit. I loved smoking. But I fell in love even more with...
