Probably cos he was using juices that didn't have high enough nicotine level. Some malaysian juices don't have accurate nicotine level. Most of them probably don't even have nicotine in them. Try malaysian premium or US juices if you don't get a kick.
It's different for everyone, really. I started vaping 5+ months ago, didn't expect to kick the smoking habit. A week later, I just stopped naturally. I've had the occasional cigarette when out with friends. Had maybe all of 3 sticks since I started.
That's my own account. YMMV.
Coil wrapping - use steam-engine to find your optimum settings. shoot for 200-300 mW/mm² on the heat flux side, and you should have a good starting point. your screwdriver will make a 2mm ID coil. so, it's gonna be 2mm ID, 24 awg, 5 wraps for 0.37ohm or there about. 18 watts?
Bigger mass of heated metal causes liquid to vaporise quicker---your wicking probably can't keep up, which explains the dry hits. Try lesser wrap for lesser heat and vapor.
Maybe try 5 wraps around a 2.5mm rod, 0.4ohm at 20 watts.

I guess. As long as I'm not smoking cigarettes again, I'm happy. I think when I was smoking, it was more like a fix thing. Need to have a cigarette every hour. With vaping, I can go hours without. Its definitely an improvement.
I use rayon in my kayfun and rdas. It works really well. I stuff with 1.5 times more rayon than cotton I would use in the kayfun. Trim off about 50% and stuff the wick into the channel. No leaking. Last longer. Taste better. YMMV.
