I agree. I can understand excluding people who never smoked from a survey on adult tobacco use. I don't understand excluding former smokers. Who gets picked is just as important as the questions asked.
I predict the results will state that X # of people were sent the survey; X # responded...
You mean like the survey that proves ecigs don't help smokers quit because seeing blu commercials made smokers want to smoke?
You'd think, wouldn't ya?
My gut feeling is that there will be some information ecig-related and it won't be pretty. Remember, you heard it here first.
AA- No 800 # listed. It says to go to friend or relative, an office, or the library if you don't have a computer or Internet access. And yes, that is the survey. I basically got booted after answering the question if anyone in the household still smokes and I said no. And I missed out on...
I'm unable to scan it. It's a generic 2-page form letter that was addressed to "To the Household at:" followed by my address. Page 1 says "CDC is creating a special new survey about certain heath issues." and gives the information on how to log in to see "if someone in your household is eligible...
I meant I should have lied and said "yes, I still smoke" just to see the rest of the questions. I'm seriously curious to know if there are any e-cig related questions. No do-overs on this, tho.
In the mail today is a nice large envelope from the CDC with "CDC Health Issues 2014 Survey" plastered across the front. So I log onto the site and it says "Evaluation of the National Tobacco Prevention and Control Public Education Screening Questionnaire." Hmm... this could be interesting...
(snipped for brevity)
Wrong and wrong. The 2009 FDA tests did not find diacetyl or melamine in the small sampling of cartridges tested. The DEG ("anti-freeze") found in 1 sample was at such a minuscule level as to be irrelevant and has never been found in subsequent tests. The FDA has not...
Aren't these the same ********* that sent letters to ecig manufacturers demanding answers about supposed 'marketing to children' BS? For pity's sake, do they really have nothing better to do? (Yes, that is a rhetorical question.)
Actually, Santa Claus is an historical figure. Saint Nicholas of Greece is the patron saint of children. His feast day is December 6th. He was know for secret gift-giving. The modern "Santa Claus" comes from the Dutch name for St. Nick - Sinterklass. The tradition of Santa Claus bringing gifts...
What angered me was the implication in the headline (DURBIN, HARKIN, ROCKEFELLER, WAXMAN & MEMBERS OF CONGRESS CALL ON E-CIGARETTE MAKERS TO EXPLAIN MARKETING TACTICS TARGETING KIDS) that they are requesting this information on behalf of entire Congress. Clearly an abuse of their position and...
What gives "Congress" the right to request this information? Why are 4 well- known ANTZ writing on behalf of the entire Congress? If there are other members of Congress interested in this subject, why aren't they named? This is clearly an attempt to harass and intimidate legitimate businesses...
I wasn't actively looking for an alternate source of nicotine delivery when I accidentally stumbled across e-cigarettes at a vendor booth at a home show in 2010, but I always knew if someone came up with an alternate delivery system I would jump on board. And I'm so glad i did!
I must be a...
Very interesting. This statement appears at the end of the comments section.

Several paragraphs in the above article, published earlier this week, about lobbying on the Tobacco Products Directive (TPD) have been...
I found it interesting that the ALA rep quickly corrected herself when she started to say "no studies" to "more studies" being needed. Me thinks she's hoping the "more studies" will somehow conform to her preconceived ideas that e-cigs are BAD.
