I had an issue with mine after using their provided atty and carto: I over tightened them and it caused the center pin to no longer be isolated. After I stripped it all apart and replace the isolating ring, everything was back to normal.
Dunno if this was addressed in the last thread, but I picked up some of those shorty 510 cartos and I'm currently putting them through their paces. One notable thing is they are a few millimeters shorter than a 510 atty so, at least for me, shorty drip tips are a no go since you're basically...
Man, I loved that place! Lived there as a kid on and off; my dad's assignments bounced us back and forth between central Europe and Fort Ord.
I'm currently stationed at Gunter Annex, AL... I would not wish this assignment on my worst enemy
Been asked to build some mods by co-workers so, I busted out the tools again to do some tests.
Built a "rocket" style flashlight (bottom) and did a test build with an old Starbucks chewing gum tin (top-right, next to a bart for size comparison); very similar to the Eclipse tin mod... The...
It's been a while since I've modded anything, but I recently switched to the 3 ohm C2 syringe mods and they don't wick well with the Tekk I made a few months back... I was using one of my mods but I really missed the switch from my Tekk so I made this:
Same concept, slightly different...
Done with mine... Took about fours hours from start to finish; this included about an hour of troubleshooting my hasty soldering job. All in all, this is a pretty easy mod to do for anybody that's decent with a soldering iron...

I'm about to do a fixed voltage tekk mod using the USB solder points on the board the way that chev327fox described. If I finish before you guys do, I'll let you guys know how it goes.
Trio of flashlights made per request...
The one with the sticker is an 808, the other two are 510s. My original builds didn't have any soldering done, but soldering seems to up the reliability of the units. Each one can accommodate an 18650 or a pair of RCR123a batteries. I will be stress...
And... Here's the latest one. Found this three-piece flashlight at Home Depot and decided to give it a shot. Went with a KR808-D1 for this one and threw an adapter on there to use with 510. Really, no complaints here from me or the wife; she was requesting a new one since she was using the one...
Honestly, if I were to do it all over again, I'd probably go the copper pipe route; you're not working against any real size constraints and the builds look super clean.
Positive connection is basically straight to the center post of the connector... It's been different every time; sometimes, I replace the center post with a screw or nail that's been cut down to size or I make the post longer with some wire or a nail... It's mostly trial and error on the...
New build, testing some things out; had to compensate for a shorter flashlight body by doing a side-mounted atty connection + top-mounted switch. Unit is pretty heavily rigged since it's a first pass; bottom retention cap is from a Desani water bottle since it's the only thing that I had...
