I'm only mid 30s. Wouldn't want to classify myself as old just yet, or even middle aged. Grey hairs are starting to kick in, though, which is as godsend as most people assume I'm a good decade + younger than I am.
Still putting pennies aside for the RDA to top my Vindicator. CSMNT looks and works great on it too, so not complaining though. Like you, I'm incredibly happy with the purchase.
Thanks for you reply, Mooch. Really appreciate it. That all makes sense. Just trying to get my head around your reasoning as part of being a responsible mech user. All the best!
I don't really have anything to compare it to, but I did try the button on 25mm SOI shorty in the shop I picked the Vindicator up from and I much preferred the Vindicator switch feel. I don't know if you already have the V2 Roundhouse with the same button I think, but if not, I find if kept well...
In your tests, you said you felt the Sony VTC5D (& Vapcell re-wrap) performed a little better than the VTC5As. I was wondering why you chose the 5As on your recommended mech chart over the 5Ds for the best all-rounder given the marginally better performance and maH rating of the latter. Have you...
Hi Mooch. Like everyone else, I want to thank you for all the testing you do for everyone, both (and especially) for batteries, but your recent voltage drop tests as well (would love to see some tests on the Kennedy 21700 Vindicators if you ever get the time and opportunity). Just saw...
True, but some of my neighbors might kick my door in shouting "you haven't bought British! How dare you?!?! We did this to take back our freedoms" or something.
I jest, but without derailing this thread, the whole Brexit thing has just been a mess and I'm so ...... off about it.
Ended up picking up the Vindicator, myself and really love it. Brizo I discounted as the button looked like a pain to disassemble and clean (plus too new, so wouldn't be able to pick one up 2nd hand and couldn't afford new). Tauren I couldn't get over how aesthetically unappealing I found it...
Thanks for your reply. KZor is the South African reviewer, right? I'll check him out.
Will contact Stealth Vape to see where they source their wire. That's all I'm really looking for, tbh. Just a reputable source for the metal used in vendor's wire.
In the mean time, I've got a small amount of...
Already got spool tamers, as I picked them up on my last wire purchase in anticipation of learning to build. Sod having a huge amount of really fine wire spring out everywhere! Thanks for the pencil tip - it's these sort of random little things that I'm really looking for. Really appreciate it!
That makes sense. I'll give it a go without for a while, and if it doesn't become the fascination that I anticipate it to be and I don't want to make more complex stuff than fused claptons I can always look at a Daedelus for just getting the job done. Plus, already have a drill and clamps, so...
Thanks for all your help @Dougiestyle, @Zaryk, @Don29palms, @sonicbomb and @untar. Massively appreciated.
Happy to keep hearing tips from everyone here, no matter how obvious it may seem to an experienced builder!
Tension seems to be key. Someone else on another forum said the same thing, and also pointed out that it's easy to be overly paranoid and then end up putting too much tension into everything, also ending up with ....ty results.
I've watched through both TM and Squidoode's channels (and M Terk and some of the stuff at Local Vapes' youtube) and really enjoy it. Only thing is that it feels like cheating, instead of just working it all out for myself :D
I've checked the Daedalus out, and while super convenient, my gut says learn to do it with a more DIY setup, so once I've got fused claptons down, I can move onto more intricate wire, with confidence and solid fundamentals.
Thanks for this. I think I'm picturing what you're saying but just to clarify, which axis to you mean? From all the vids I've watched, I'm thinking that the wrapping wire needs to be slightly below parallel to the floor, and in relation to the core wires, if we call the drill 0º and the swivel...
