    clogging cartomizers

sure, but you'll also be reducing the nicotine and flavor.

Help making a new battery pack please. WARNING NOVICE!?????

This is a concern. Batteries can be dangerous. Resistors are rated in "ohms," not volts. The rating of the resistor you'd need is dependent upon the voltage supplied and the current through it, as ohm's law states V=IR (voltage = current times current). That being said, wiring a resistor in...

    Getting thru Airport Security

I have a DIY boxmod that would be pretty easily mistaken for some sort of detonator and they didn't even raise an eyebrow.

Nic content vaping. Are you looking to reduce or not ?

I can't vape without nicotine. I also can't drink decaf coffee or nonalcoholic beer. It's a mental thing. I started at 18 mg then dropped down to 6 (as I was trying to reduce my nicotine dependence), then got hooked on 36 mg from a free sample from a vender. I've stayed at 36 for quite a while...

    the affects of e-juice?

Less physical addiction, more mental addiction with vaping. The mental addiction is the hard one to break.

electronic cigarette charger exploded inside a car

Some of the chargers people use are terrifying. Li-ion batteries aren't the safest chemistry, even with protection. A good battery charger is a very good way to spend money. I don't trust any of the _____fire chargers or batteries, let alone the china clones.

    Back into the "hobby"

After quitting the ecig almost a year ago, life events have brought me back to the addiction. i've gone through a few blu disposable/njoy kings (boy, disposables have come a long way) over the past week or 2 and just purchased a pack of cartos and some juice. Getting back into it isn't nearly...

    expensive mods

I said I could make something that performs the same, but also acknowledged that I have a rather specialized skill set that allows me to do so, which the majority do not posses.... I thought the china part was clear. I was replying to the (rather ignorant) post that stated that box mods could...

    expensive mods

I have not made one myself because I haven't the time or motivation to do so. I do have access to all the appropriate tools and machinery to assemble surface mount components on PCB's, as well as access to incredibly expensive electrical design software. But again, not something I'm interested...

    expensive mods

But you have to keep in mind that the modding community is behind these high-end pv's. Variable voltage was first implemented in a box mod. Constant power was first discussed in the modding forum. Larger batteries? Mod forum. The diy'ers are the force behind the expensive models. Difference is...

Don't remember the p/n to look up the datasheet for the switch, but it's not a $.50 radio shack special.... Got it from mouser. I'm a bit taken aback that you assume that because I don't mass produce what I make, it's crap. FYI, I repair/test/tube electronics that get installed in f-16's, b1...

    expensive mods

Who says it won't last long? I've been using my "cheap plastic" otterbox mod for almost a year now. Plus, it's ruggedized and waterproof (minus the carto, but I carry spares inside the mod) How many "high end" mods are suited for extreme conditions? IMO, it's great for the outdoor enthusiast...

    IMR question

Just got 6 IMR 14500's to replace my standard 14500's. I did some searching but was unable to find a solid answer. Because these batteries are unprotected, do they cut off before overdischarging?

    dual LM317 VV

That's the spirit! Aluminum is a popular choice. You're basically just adding thermal mass to the regulator so it doesn't heat up as quickly. A chunk of aluminum with a small hole tapped in it (you can mount the regulator to the heat sink through the hole in the "tab" of the regulator) works...

    dual LM317 VV

Radio shack has TO-220 heat sinks for a few bucks apiece if you need a source. If you search mouser or digikey, you could probably find a double heat sink that would fit both regulators.

Before this thread falls off the cliff, why don't we stop arguing over what is clearly an opinion with no right or wrong answer. If one size fit all we wouldn't have the plethora of mods available to us.
