Pretty sure it's probably the nicotine. Nicotine gets a peppery taste as it ages. Cheese and certain other foods are palate cleansers and maybe you are picking up on the peppery as the cheese pulls off the the layer of dead cells off your taste buds.
so, glycerine is produced from fats. lots of people loosely use the term VG referring to vegetable glycerine, but unless it is listed a kosher then i may contain animal fats. chemically they are the same but from my experience stay kosher.
logically, darker would be better for higher strengths of nic. but for the 3mg/ml everyone is rolling around with, i don't think it really makes much of a difference.
If the ring is made of rubber then yes. Pluid has been known to make rubber swell. If its silicone then I don't think it's from pluid.
Rinse it off and set it aside for awhile and the swelling should go down and the head might potentially work again.
