Follow up: My 905 hasn't repeated the zombie activation, so I'm beginning to think it might have been the self-cleaning cycle arriving early. I still don't like it (the unit should only turn on when I tell it to), but I'm starting to trust the 905 again. Everything else is still fine :)

There's a version 3 out now which has no base switch, only the side switch.

Bad battery is my guess. I had a couple of those manual batteries which were totally useless, but the same atty with one of the new extra-length batteries vapes up a storm.
