The Mic4576 is a switching regulator chip you will have to add parts to it for it to work. Inductor caps resistors. It is not like a linear chips where you might not need to add anything to it but maybe a couple resistors or pot.
I would look into the lm2596 boards. hard to beat @ $1.50 a pop...
Using protected batteries is the easiest way to add short circuit protection. You can add a protection circuit to a unprotected battery but it is easier to just buy a protected battery. Other then that Polly switches or PTC re settable fuses add short circuit protection. Some folks add those...
These are all that i know ofVape - Shorty 510-510 Extension/Connector with nut Sealed. Stainless Steel with a nut to connect them to the case. If your not using the case as a ground your going to have to use a big wire connector to go behind the nut. Stainless is very hard to solder to so i...
Testing for amps is not the same as voltage. You have to run one of the polarities threw the meter. For example take the positive wire going to the battery connector and cut it. hook boths end to the meter. One end to the red connector and one end to the black connector. Then if you use the amp...
I use my knuckle buster ( HF 7x lathe) all the time to cut threads into stainless. I have done a mod or two to it though. Bought mine used so it was pretty loose when i got it. adjusting the gibs and the saddle made a huge difference. Tapered roller bearing mod also helps out alot. I for sure...
Brass will take regular Electronics grade solder. Just hit the spot with a file or sandpaper first since electronics grade solder flux is not that acidic the area needs to be pretty clean and non oxidized . If your going to solder to that big brass nut you made it is going to take a serious iron...
Sounds like they are soft cells. In that case, if it is ripped open then it should not be used.
best way to get tape off things is to heat it up then it peels away very easily. But this might not be a good idea with batteries since you can damage them if excess heat is used or even make them...
Just remember water proof without safety valves or some way to let the pressure out( as was pointed out earlier in the thread) if a battery goes to venting you have basicly made a hand grenade. although it is pretty rare it does happen better safe then sorry.
I have used OnLineMetals quite a bit. Always been happy with them. Like them better then speedymetals. If you create a account and add your shipping address it will give you a shipping charge estimate before placing a order.
You can do it i just finished one up yesterday. Requires desoldering and ripping out the trimmer and adding a pot also a resistor might need to be added . Mine goes from 3 to 6 volts. Here are some pics of it
Air comes threw the sides where the atomizer screws in. You will see four slots cut in the top of the battery side connector. Plus two holes in the atomizer just above the threads. The bottom hole was initially only there for automatic batteries that turn on when you take a draw off the...
I am using 16 awg on my lm2596 right now. Going any bigger then 16 awg gives you a pretty fat cord. 18awg also works pretty well. if you have room you can go bigger but i think 16 is ideal.
It is relatively safe if your using protected batteries. The highest rated tact switch i have ever come across was 400mA. So i think it is pretty safe to say it is getting pushed way passed it's rated specs. But without those specs cant say 100% for sure. More then likely it will just quit...
Hakko are really good irons made in japan. You can get a 65 watt digital readout one for less then a 100 bucks. Other then that you can get China made ones for around 50 bucks with digital temp readouts. I got a cheap china made one a couple years ago and it still works fine. But if i had the...

Yeah i went cheap on my UV lights got a 100 off ebay for about 7 bucks and etched a board for them. Run it off a 3 amp variable voltage regulator i had laying around. Works pretty good. 100 x 3mm Bright UV Purple 5000 mcd LED Bulb Light | eBay
Your Welcome ,
yeah it was quite awhile before i learned how to do the footprints, But i etch my own boards so i just used to take the line a bit longer to get the extra pad space. Wasn't till i started doing my own solder masking i needed the pads to be correct so the transparency i use for UV...
