One 10440 I had burned out. Plus the protected ones are always such. PCB. That said these are great replacements for AAA in anything that can handle, and is improved by the extra juice, i.e. flashlights. My headlamp takes 3 AAAs, I put one 10440 in to add brightness.

Best source for atomizers (DSE901) I've found yet. Made well, nice matte black!

No re-soldering--that would be pretty retarted. The battery just slips in like a flashlight and contacts when closed. Nothing soldered to the battery.

There is a thin, ribbon-type wire I pulled from a printer that runs down to the neg end. I trimmed it so it's about 1-2 mm wide. I scuffed it at the end to expose a bit of metal and soldered a bead that extrudes enough to make contact. There is a spring contact at the pos end. All the wiring...

This one I got from a desktop printer in someones trash--I actually got 4 out of it. All the tactile switches I have pulled from various sources all have 4 leads. I just snip of the ones I don't need, maybe paint a little epoxy or something over the unused leads to keep them from contacting...
