    Love how the topcap is taking off! When I originally did it, I didn't have to heat it, I think because the tubing cutter I was using squeezed the tubing down a little. That thing you made looks fantastic Dan!

    Here's a little video of a mod to the GTUS that some might like... It really lightens things up a lot. I don't have the diameter of the tubing right now, but it hits the threads and screws right on!!!

    It seems I was mistaken in my earlier post, with a ss wick, glowing seems to be the norm. with my silica, no glowing at all. as long as the wick glows evenly with the ss, it's ok.

    that should be roughly 4.8v unloaded, with a pretty drastic drop loaded. look at the "puck" threads.

    This could be your problem, if by "not touching' you mean not touching the wick. Your coil shouldn't glow if it is touching the wick... As long as the coils are tight to the wick, you should be good. Also, invest in a multimeter(cheap ones work fine) and see what resistance you have after the...
