The Really Big RY4 Roundup (long)

This list of Sweet RY4s (from the Categories page of The Big RY4 List) is old — March of 2015 — and getting long in the tooth, and some of the retail RY4s listed are not even available anymore, but it will give you ample material for Google searches: Dessert/Sweet AltCig RY4 AltSmoke...

I agree. Clay's NET-based RY4 is very, very good, and it's available as either a retail eliquid or a flavoring concentrate.

I'm definitely with Cool on this one. Making one's own DIY RY4 from component flavorings (tobacco, caramel, and vanilla being primary as the "holy trinity") seems like it would be easy, but it's not. I say this after years of experimentation with a very wide range of flavorings that produced...

Finding another retail RY4 that's close to IKV RY4 are extremely unlikely. Lots of interesting RY4s out there in the retail marketplace, but I know of none that replicate Ikenvape's.

Five years with the same DIY RY4 all-day-vape. Now that's consistency!

I haven't had Jvapes version of RY4. Apparently Jvapes retired it, then brought it back. I can't tell for sure from the description and customer reviews whether it's a Custom (American-style) or Classic (Chinese-style) RY4. Custom tends to be sweeter, so perhaps Pursuit of Happiness is more...

The Really Big RY4 Roundup (long)

Jack, One might reasonably assume that making a great RY4 with DIY would be easy. Nope. Many participants on this thread over its five-year history can attest that it's not true. The three "Holy Trinity" flavorings of RY4 — synthetic tobacco, caramel, and vanilla — come in a bewildering array...

CL, I regard everything I've ever posted in this thread as public information. You may post whatever you like of mine.

My days of making and vaping NETs are mostly behind me. I vape mainly fruits and desserts now. I still vape the occasional NET-based RY4 (Doodlebug's and my own Burley Kake RY4), but that's about it.

Of the three kinds of Dulce de Leche flavoring I have — FlavorWest, TFA, and Jungle Flavors — my favorite is FW. While not as concentrated as TFA or Jungle (which is typical for FW flavorings), I prefer the flavor profile. Weaker isn't a criticism, by the way. In fact, I like flavorings that...

Tamer, Dulce de Leche seems popular as an addition in DIY Custards. I don't see any reason why it couldn't be used in an RY4 mix. Maybe some people wouldn't respond to the "cheesiness," but it would definitely add a creamy component.

NY, If you can taste AP in your mixes, don't like it, and recognize a similar telltale effect in retail eliquids, then you're right. Doesn't matter if someone else has a different (meaning more positive or neutral) experience with AP. We all taste what we taste. I don't mean to pretentiously...

AP (Acetyl Pyrazine) is often added in small percentages (1-1.5%) when mixing TFA RY4 Double. AP adds roasted, nutty, bready and yeasty notes, with popcorn and corn chip nuances. I can imagine that it might help add body to just about any of the all-in-one retail RY4 flavorings.

Tamer, Yes, even the best of the all-in-one DIY RY4 retail flavorings I've ever tried (and I've tried most of them) are "missing something."

Ah, I see. I made no recommendations for vanilla or caramel because there are literally hundreds of those flavorings on the market, and their flavor profiles vary both widely and wildly. Tobacco is easier to narrow down. For instance, we wouldn't use Latakia, Perique, or Turkish as a base...

The other two ingredients? I don't know what you're referring to. We can assume with certainty that both Janty and Dekang RY4s — whether in their original RY4 recipes from way back in 2007 and 2008, or in their current RY4 formulations — use more than just the "Holy Trinity" of three core...

The Really Big RY4 Roundup (long)

The simple answer is no. The more complex response involves the history of RY4. Very few vapers ever had the original Ruyan liquid from 2005-2006, and the few who have offer different opinions as to its flavor profile. In general, we can say with confidence that it wasn't the same as the...
