BOTTOM FEEDERS= a place for everything modified and/or custom made

Decided it was time to retry bottom feeders, since trying the new generation of RTAs/RDAs and RTDAs. Those old atties just didn't cut it for me with bottom feeders Pretty displeased with the results overall. Too wide and blocky, not happy with the door fit. Overall "eeehh". Think I will...

RDA Mutation x v4: the good vs. The bad

Thank you both, Good info, I will have to refer back to this thread as I ordered one from Subtank supply today. I must say that the rebuildables today are so much easier than my previous disasters with oversized Audio jacks a couple years ago.

    Vision Clearomisers?

There were at least 3 versions of the Vision.Basically short wick, long wick, and rebuildable. I haven't used mine in a while. There are also numerous others that resemble the vision as well. I have used the vision and the stardust, both of which worked quite well for me. The cheap reproductions...

mre777, just go to your nearest woodworkers supply,(maybe community college etc), they will probably have safety and project classes for very reasonable prices. Say $20 for shop safety. They know that having the classes increases their bottom line. Also YouTube is a great source of info/ ideas...

No skill required, just practice. Harbor freight has a mini lathe for about $125, sale $89 The new carbide tools are make the learning curve very flat. And the best thing....you don't have to sharpen them, just rotate the cutter head 90 degrees when they get dull.

Sorry FortyTwo, I am using a swing head lathe from Harborfreight. The entire head assembly can be swung to side up to 120 degrees. Only issue I have had was that the lathe weighs around 175 lbs. So I added about a hundred more in lead in 2 boxes on the shelf.

No, it is a knot. Almost finished...just have to sand off the CA finish and do wax. I forgot that you can't do CA unless the whole project is done at the same time.

No, just a 18350. It will be shortened and slanted a good bit. I have been playing around with knucklebuster bowls. You can't actually see the edge of the bowl...but a mm too far...digit covered with sawdust right in the mouth...spicy language soon to follow.
