With all they have at stake here, "reclassifying" will most definitely be attempted and most certainly has been planned, at least as a fall-back position if not their primary goal as I suggested - what makes you think this would be impossible to achieve ...

Interesting comment.
The EU position set out in 2008 was http://ec.europa.eu/health/ph_determinants/life_style/Tobacco/Documents/orientation_0508_en.pdf
There are 3 regulatory frameworks, Medicinal, Tobacco and General. A number of EU states went down the medicinal...
Indeed rothenbj, the very first comment is interesting
So people 'love' the use of disgust-invoking potentialy misleading terms? They may believe they are fighting BigT, but the effects are on People.
Perhaps it is worth remembering that the reblame (er reframe) can also be reframed...
I bleive WOW made this comment
Vocalek answered the 4000 chemical issue.
As documented at Dr Siegel's blog, RJ Reynolds did remove all additives from their Winston brand.
Anti-smoking groups complained and RJ Reynolds were made to add a disclaimer - "No additives does not mean a safer...
Interesting.
Here is my take on it, a slightly revamped version of a post over at UK Vapers a few days a go:
Just to add, this study may give too much weight to the psychosocial aspects due to the researchers involved.
I agree with Kristin's concerns. The 'nicotine is as addictive...
Thank you for this reply. To sum up you believe e-juice to be a medicine for curing 'people who smoke' from an 'addiction'?
I understand your belief that it 'cured' you. This is not evidence that it did though and it is not evidence that can be genralised without clinical trials
.
Many...

Shiining Wit, you make an excellent case for regulation. You are quite correct about the quality and safety of the product. These are important and you certainly have ensured ,through testing, that these are not an issue for your company. A testing baseline for both...

Voting for nothing? Option 3 is not voting for nothing. It is voting for non regulation as a medicine.
Regulation is needed and accepted. What is under discussion is the regulatory framework.
Why are so many vapers opposed to FDA regulation? The FDA seem to be...
There are a number of regulations that can come into play. These include labeling, packaging, quality and safety.
It maybe that the e-cig is not fully covered by these regulations. I have no doubt the safety and quality of the e-cig could be brought within them Indeed, from what I have read...
Deewal, I was refering to ASH(UK)'s postion on the MHRA consultation.
I take your point about FSC though I do not think we should get involved.
Wrt to the ASH statement. Many take this as support for the e-cigarette that we have today. It is very cleverly worded.
I suggest you research the...
Nictoine is regulated under the Poisons act (I don't have the ref to hand). Which allows nicotine upto 7.5% I believe.
Packaging for ejuice comes under the CHIP regulations. --> HSE - Chemicals (hazard information and packaging for supply)
The regulations below already apply under the General...
D Arnott was part of the NICE citizens consultation and heavily promoted NRT. NICE are on the MHRA consultation cc list, ASH(UK) are not (odd?). The MHRA options need to be read together with the NICE citizens council report to get an all around view.
As I said to Deewal on the other thread...
Also posted at UK Vapers.
I posted this earlier on the thread it might be worth rereading --> http://www.mhra.gov.uk/home/groups/c.../con007544.pdf
This is the MHRA document on Borderline Medicinal Products.
For e-cig purposes (a) "the first limb" may not apply depending on claims...
People are generally agreed that some regulation is needed. They went for option 2 because it seemed the correct thing to do given that option 3 claimed NCPs (inc e-cigs) were 'unregulated'
It is clearly the case that e-cigs (juice) are regulated, just not as medicines. If people were...
Yes, I do that sometimes :)
On enlisting help. I believe ASH (UK) would support option 1. Also isn't it odd that they are not on the cc list for the MRHA consultation?
D Arnott (CEO/Director) Ash (UK) was included as a speaker in the NICE citizens council report where she whole heartedly...
Fire safe cigarettes make some people who smoke ill very quickly. Let's add more toxins to cigarettes? There is also no evidence they 'save' lives. FSCs can still cause fires.
This is an issue for people who smoke rather than people who vape.

Thank you for the explanation Scott. From an end customers POV what are we fighting for then, to take medicine? The US are fighting to stop the e-cig from being regulated by the FDA as a drug delivery device. By going for opt 2 arn't we just endorsing the FDA position?
A ban on imports is...
