I think most media is just working on the idea that whatever Health Canada says is gospel. Stupid, but typical for the media these days.

It should never be taxed like cigarettes. The government's justification for high taxes on cigarettes has always been to offset the health care costs, and to encourage people to stop smoking. As far as we know, there is no reason to do those when it comes to ecigs, so how can it be justified?
