Would love to hear the results, but I'm guessing that the Venturi effect created by angling the air hole within the collector tank accounts for more of the difference between KF and Ody than the distance of the wick/coil from the air inlet.

I usually use a paperclip to wrap the coil around the wick, and pull it out to make sure it's not wrapped too tightly. Works a treat for me.
