A better Berserker MTL RDA build?

Recently picked this little 18mm RDA up on a whim and as a mostly MTL guy i'm enjoying it... but i know it could be better. I've tried a few different 28g Kanthal builds and the provided (dumb imo) "MTL Micro Claptons". I'm currently using a 1.1 ohm Kanthal, 28 g, 2.5 mm, 7 wrap (or 8 cant...

    Joyetech Penguin

Even the coils that wick really well dont wick near as well as say most Aspire or Kanger coils. Or even other Joyetech coils. The ones that "keep up" better likely have less cotton. If the Penguin utilized a design where the coil had two inlet ports, one on the left and right on the coil...

    Joyetech Penguin

The cotton adjustment tricks have been going on since day one with the penguin's. People either pull a majority of the cotton up the juice channel or poke holes. I've tried all them the first week or so the device was released and it helped with some coils. Hell, i even started to rebuild and...

While i love my penguins the coils are still hit or miss. I've been through about 30 coils so far and id say about 1/4 were amazing, 1/4 would NOT wick for .... and 1/2 would wick decently but would dry up after the second long pull. The SE is more of an obvious cost saving's effort than an...

    Eleaf iCare 2

This. Just purchase your salt base and mix as normal. Salts in pod devices (and on of my BB's with a 1.6bvc) is glorious for on the go out and about stuff.

I used to run o-rings with the Ohman Uno... but no, i haven't tried on the Exo/Kanger RBA/Insider yet. I'll mess with that but i wish there was a "better" way, ya know?

Finally picked up an insider in hopes that the narrow chimney tube would allow for a better MTL experience compared to the Exocet. I feel like i can "close" off the air with the dial below the boro and it's still too airy for my Salts. I really hope i dont have to rely on 1.6/1.8ohm Aspire...

    Eleaf iCare 2

I'm using two, tiny iCare Solo's for Nic Salts and i've been pleasantly surprised with the 1.1ic coils. I mix my Salt liquid at a 50/50 ratio and i never, ever get dry hits. I've never tried the high VG sc coils but i'm sure they're all interchangeable. With this device being able to fire...

It's basically a BB RDA minus the deck... exactly. Not a "bad" price but when i can buy a Hadaly or likely Entheon or Sentinel for that... c'mon... seriously!? Yea the Exo and Insider are overpriced as well... and i've learned my lesson with high-priced attys. I'll wait to try a clone or keep...

I was super stoked for it until he announced the pricing and me then thinking about rebuilding it and not being able to dry fire coils and having to rebuild fresh each time etc. It's a great atty and like 80% to where it should be in terms of design. I love vertical coils but i'll deal with...

Man passed signing up for the ....... rebuildable (FB group) this morning and was thinking about a second hand Flow... but after hearing all this negativity... looks like i'll pass! lol

    Joyetech Penguin

For those curious about rebuilding the coil heads it's easy... but not viable more than 2 or 3 times depending on how gentle you are with the +/- end caps. All you need to do is take a razor and score the epoxy/glue at the base of each metal cap to free it. They wont come completely off as the...

    Joyetech Penguin

Yup. Both mine and the wife's stock (2) coils were junk. Replacements are better but not every one unfortunately. I have some Nude Nicotine's HIT salts coming in this week so i'm going to do some mixing at different levels and attempt to dial down the perfect % for the Penguin and the 0.6...

It seems the problem lies with the coils. Consistency is ..... Some are great and others will dry hit constantly. The device really just needs some quality coils and it would be perfect.

    Joyetech Penguin

This Penguin is the most infuriating thing ever. Half of the coils are amazing and give this perfect, dense flavor with great wicking... and half are complete garbage, don't wick for .... and burn up what juice they do seep through instantly. If the coils were all like the good ones i've got...

Panels are Earth Brown G10 in the classic 1911 diamond pistol grip pattern from Conor Mums. The nicest G10 panels i've come across. He does a bunch of designs. Oh - if anyone's interested... sources have told me the Exocet takes a M2 x 3mm screw FWIW.

Anyone know of any other integrated drip tips other than the Ohman, JMK or Skyhold hybrids? Been searching for a small, simple brass tip for what seems like ages now without luck. The JMKs while nice are too tall... Bret's stuff is Titanium... and Skyholds look super wide and all "rounded...

    High end RTAs

I'm with you completely. The Kayfun 5 for a restricted DL is pretty much unbeaten currently in terms of performance. In terms of use and aesthetics that's a different matter. Some other RTAs come close in those other departments or best it... but they still dont deliver that same dense...
