    Amp! Dna40!

Hey Ken Haha! OK, so we won't call it "Homemade"! We'll call it, uuum "Handmade"! Yup that's the ticket! Yes, I hand cut the "Amp" with a jewelers piecing saw from nickel sheet stock along with the button plate. Go check out the link to my photo album of the build.

    Amp! Dna40!

Yup! True dat! A jewelers bench is to hold tools and materials for the job at hand as the work is preformed at the bench pin in front of the bench. :)

    Amp! Dna40!

Asdaq Feel free to give this go if you like. That's why I put the photos up. Possibly to inspire someone to give it a try or at least give others design ideas.

    Amp! Dna40!

Hey Johnny, thanks for the interest. The material is Canvas Micarta (phenolic-Google it) .093 (3/32") thick, in either C or CE grade. This stuff was invent in 1907 by the guy that invented Bakelite (first thermo plastic). He worked for Westinghouse and this material was used for old radio...

Nostalgic meets New Tech, when Inspiration meets Occasion! TURN IT UP! It’s time to get the band back together! Yup, I got to be part of the DNA40 beta test group and put this unit together for testing the board. Amazing tech (DNA40), IMHO! I had planned a DNA30 for this enclosure, but the...

1962 Pocket Transistor Radio mod. :-)

Where do ya think "Cargo Pants" began? :) All I remember calling them was transistor radio's. All hot summer long and after we went to bed we could listen to the end of the ball game with the earphone plugged in and we thought are parents didn't know. Next morning they'd ask who won the game and...

    My “BB&B (Barebones Black & Blue)” DNA20

Thanks folks. Took Asdaqs advice and here are some more of the shot from my build. The in wall wiring was a bit of a challenge but I like the way it turned out. Also, when heat coloring very thin stainless steel (ie: Button domes & collars) there can be some oops factor. Takes a bit of practice...

    My “BB&B (Barebones Black & Blue)” DNA20

Thought I’d share my lastest build. If you want to copy it? That’s fine with me! It was supposed to be Very Simple! Simple isn’t the same as easy! LOL! The KISS principle didn’t make it to this ones front door! For sure! I wanted to use colored tactile switches but not have all the spaghetti...

    Battery contacts required

You might want to check this thread as I show picture of contacts I made. I used K&S Engineering Brass in .015" x .25' x 12" for the main contact part and .015" x .1875" x 12" for the sidebars. Each is about $2 per stick. Not sure if K&S is available in the UK but I'm sure you can find something...

    No Gold! But there’s a Fist-Full-O-Diamonds!

Thanks Bap U bet, give it a try! The store bought stuff is messy to machine, sand & file but I like the look. DYI, as I haven't tried that myself, I have a couple of friends that make their own for knife handle scales and you can get some great patterns, doesn't seem to be as messy but that may...
